Epic in all but name
legions imperialis is a great little game, the figures have a lot more detail then I expected, but at such a small scale, they can be difficult to see.

Poor value for $200 especially considering the options available today. Also it's a different scale so it's not backwards compatible. Personally I prefer the original version of epic.

Tiny Marines
I started wargaming with WH40k decades ago. I've since mostly moved on to 6mm historicals since I like the sight of big battles on the table, but never lost my love of the 40k (and 30k) lore. So 8mm-ish Space Marines? Yes please. The models are great if a little fiddly (e.g. predator sponsons are 2 pieces each), and the system is good so far.

Miniatures are great, although some parts are fiddly. The cardboard tokens are thin and poorly done. Otherwise, there's good value in this set. The tanks are the stars of the show. They are really tremendous. People should not get this thinking Epic scale is cheaper than 40k; it's not. The smaller scale allows for really big battles, but that incurs the cost of lots of expansion sets.
