Meadow: Downstream is an expansion for Meadow inspired by the fascinating nature of aquatic environments. Start a new journey to observe flora, fauna and landscapes connected with rivers, streams and lakes. Go kayaking down the river and compete with others on the new fields of exploration.
Meadow: Downstream includes over 80 new cards depicting wildlife living in an aquatic environment and a new thematic envelope to discover. Kayaking mechanism allows players to score extra points for progressing down the river. Adjust the level of competition with two-sided river board. Choose between a fast stream and calm river to explore two faces of nature.

Nice addition
Fun expansion to Meadow. Doesn't change much in the original game, but provides an additional layer of complexity that ramps up the challenge while keeping the relaxing mood of the game. Plus, it has a beaver dam!

loved it
Loved the base game this just adds more to live. The artwork is great. Highly recommend if you like the meadow base game.

Lovely Expansion
I like this Meadow expansion. Several interesting new mechanisms add to the already fun game without overwhelming it. It seems to me like focusing on the new mechanics or focusing on the base game is the way to score well. I wish it were possible to score well while dabbling with both the base game and the new mechanics.

A must-buy if you like Meadow.
If you like Meadow, this is a no-brainer. I love what it adds to the game - another board with a new deck of cards. Cards from this board do not give you points, but they let you move your kayak up a river that gives you points and other rewards. Just as beautiful as the base game. Nice family weight.

Flexibility without much overhead
Downstream doesn't add much rules overhead and is easy to incorporate and teach, but gives more to think about each turn, and gives more options beyond just the mainboard. The stream board can really help you snag goals and can give you different directions to go if the central meadow is just not producing the symbols that you need, but it also doesn't directly score points in the same way, so you have to decide if you want to just dip your toe in the stream or if you really want to go the full 9 yards. It takes an already good game and makes it better, and also just piles on more natural beauty to enjoy while playing. Highly recommend if you enjoy the base game, but want a little more to think about.
