Manufacturer: Catan Studio

A Catan adventure for fledgling swashbucklers.

Explore the Seas! Catan: Junior introduces a modified playing style of the classic game giving younger players the opportunity to experience the world of Catan! Designed for players as young as 5 and is a perfect introduction to the Catan series of games for kids and families.

Catan: Junior takes place on a ring of islands where 2 to 4 players build hideouts, and the mysterious Spooky Island, where the Ghost Captain lives. Each island generates a specific resource: wood, goats, rum or swords and players can acquire gold.

Each player starts with two pirate hideouts, then builds ships in order to expand their network. The more hideouts you build, the more resources you may receive. You use your resources to build ships, hideouts or get help from Coco the Parrot. Just watch out for the dreaded Ghost Captain!

Be the first player to control seven pirate hideouts and you win the game!

Catan: Junior contains:

120 Cards

28 Pirate hideouts (7 each of 4 colors)

One of the best intro games for kids if not the best

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

When we first got into gaming I got Pandemic and Betrayal at House on the Hill ( & a few other's ) for Christmas and our kids watched us playing and of course they wanted to play to (not old enough yet) so I started looking for a game that was their age but was close to a older version....enter Catan Junior this game had everything I was looking for and the kids love it, It's fun for all of us to play

Great game for kids!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

My daughter (7) and I love this game. It was easy to learn and teaches the basic mechanics or Catan. I took it to her cousins birthday party and the kids there loved it too. It is fun for the whole family and a great way to spend time with your child. (We did house rule when you buy a parrot with the ghost pirate on it you didn't get the resources for moving it, got to be to powerful)

Kinder Catan

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

This is basically a simpler, kinder version of Catan. You'll take away the variable board, the stealing, the trading of resources; however this does lead to less conflict than its bigger brother. Great stepping stone for younger children and it looks better.
