Firefight is a squad-based, sci-fi wargame set in the distant future. However, this isn't a dark, dystopian future where everyone is always fighting for their lives. This is a future where capitalism has run rampant and humanity's grip on the galaxy continues to squeeze ever tighter.
Giant corporations, collected together under the umbrella of the Galactic Co-Prosperity Sphere (GCPS), grow rich on exploiting the natural resources of planets spread throughout the galaxy. In order to do this, they recruit sprawling armies to defend their assets. . .and wipe out the local population, should they become hostile.
And they do become hostile! Humanity's inexorable journey across the stars has brought them into conflict with numerous alien races. Some - like the stoic Forge Fathers or aloof Asterians - can be bargained with, while others - such as the ravenous Plague or insidious Veer-myn - only understand violence.
These conflicts are represented in Firefight through epic skirmishes on the tabletop. Typically a game will feature around 40-60 miniatures, with a mix of infantry, airships soaring through the sky and tanks trundling across the battlefield.

Great starter product!
This starter box is an excellent entry into the Firefight game. The models are great (even the resin!) and the two included books are all you need to start playing the game. Assembly is required, and painting is highly recommended, so expect some significant prep time between opening the box and playing your first game. I'll be picking up some additional forces as well as the Deadzone books and a dice pack, since the models included with Firefight can be used in Deadzone as well.

Great 40k alternative
This is a solid buy for those that want to break away from other more expensive products.

Great Value for the Money
This box set is absolutely packed with content. The 1st thing you will notice is the weight of the box. This is a chonky boy and for good reason! 71 minis, Rule Book, Force Lists for ALL FACTIONS in one book (unlike some competitors we all know who love to wring every dollar they can out of us), Dice, counters, tokens etc. everything you need to get started. All of this for around 100 dollars. Mantic has been steadily improving their mini quality over the years and while not quite to GW level yet they still look great at a fraction of the cost of GW! Also, all these minis are compatible with Deadzone so even if you just buy it for the minis you can't go wrong. The only negative for me is the Enforcer legs can be a bit fiddly, but as I have assembled tons of minis and models over the years this was a minor annoyance at worst. All in all, couldn't be more pleased this purchase is a no-brainer for me!

Great SciFi Wargame
Firefight has the perfect balance in size and rules complexity while refraining from the mental load that comes with other systems, but keeps from becoming mindless.

Firefight! Best new wargame!
So this set. I can't even begin to describe how awesome it is! 66 miniatures! Rules! ARMY BOOK WITH ALL THE ARMIES STATS?! DICE?! What isn't to love?! If you want a new wargame that won't break the bank and you like orks or superhumans in armor?! GET THIS SET!!! Also! Did i mention the rules are streamlined and super easy?! YEA THEY ARE! What are you waiting for?! BUY IT!
