A short history of RPGs - exactly what I wanted it to be
A splendid trip through the history of RPGs from the 1970s to the 2010s. By no means attempting to be exhaustive (even though it is a healthy 440 pages long), Stu Horvath makes this little history trip genuinely interesting by covering a nice balance of larger and smaller RPGs while discussing the various genre booms and mechanics changes that RPGs have seen over the years. From a production standpoint, the book is well-made with decently thick, partly glossy pages and crisp printing and artwork.
