Bring Balance Back to the Forest!

Time is broken and shattered. The seasons all exist at once, and day and night have no real cycle - they rotate at the whim of the forest. This enchanted land has been driven into chaos and it's up to you, the cunning mystics of the forest, to tame extraordinary woodland creatures and use your magic to bring back balance.

In Brew, players must choose how to use element dice - either to take back control of as many seasons as possible in an area control game or to procure goods at the local village in a worker-placement game. Recruiting woodland creatures and brewing potions can help offset chance die-rolls or create an engine to help you tame the lands.

Cute, but spicy!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Don't be deceived by its cute looks, Brew is a mean take that dice drafting game. Complexity is just right for me, I keep bringing this oen to the table.

It looks like you won't have enough, but it ends up being just about right.

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

With four rounds in the game, I was concerned that it would end too quickly, but each round gave each player approximately six turns. There was enough harvesting that it was possible to brew enough potions to flip forests in your favor or against opponents. The last-minute surprise attacks add some player interaction and conflict to the game that would be lacking if only competing for worker placement locations, and it allows the area control to be upset.

Nice Dice Placement Game

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

It's a nice game with some thinky dice placement options but you won't see much variety after a while. Some moves make no sense, like why would you burn some of the forest if that ends up helping some other players. But overall the game is nice and I really like the artwork. The theme is a little weird for me, like messy, but the art backs it up.

Better than expected.

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I ordered this with a fair bit of worry because we usually don't do well with take that games, and this game has a lot of take that. And while there is a fair bit of take that in this game it makes up for it in good game play interesting theme and beautiful artwork and component quality. The dice driver mechanics are really fun and you usually have lots of choices of where to place your die.

Amazing! We really enjoyed this game, can't stop playing

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

You have a lot of things you can do. Brew potions, train criatures and liberate them or control forest. You can't just do one! You need to create a balance between all those things in order to win, but the best part is the take that factor that it have, keeping a certain tension on the players, sabotaging their strategy. And it's easy to learn!

Brew

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

In Brew, you will be drafting dice, attempting to gain majority in forest locations, gathering resources for potions, and training creatures that give you special actions. The art and production are delightful. You definitely have a great deal of player interaction in Brew. You will have to push each other around a bit in order to grab majorities in forests for victory points. Now, my gaming group is pretty relaxed. I laugh when I got slapped about, and honestly, some of the ways my opponents removed my dice from the game were brilliant. Can't be made about that! Everyone had a great time. I highly recommend this game with one caveat: if your group can't handle take that moments, it could get spicy. For my group, we adore this game.
