Jungle of Despair #27 Lion (U)

This lion seems to small for a large size. About 3/4 the size of the Waterdeep Dragon Heist lion, but with a more dynamic pose, with a paw raised to strike and jaws wide to bite, and his other three legs braced against the ground. The seams on this model are more subtle than the Dragon Heist lion, but the paint isn't as good. The colors are better, but blended poorly, with the tan looking like it was applied while the primer was still wet and the mane suffering from the same trying to get fancy with two-tone fur and ruining the effect that the frostmaiden wolf does. The mouth is strangely detailed, teeth tongue and black guns distinct from each other, but no eyes at all to speak of (though that nitpick could just be the eyes closed from the open jaws... meh!) Still, two options for $2 lions. Save money to get more models you'll use more often. And how many characters are going to get a Figurine of Wondrous Power (Golden Lions), anyway?

Got two of these after getting two Jungle of Despair booster bricks. The miniature looks nice and the painting job is not too bad, but the size of the lion on the large base was somewhat disappointing.
