New, but not very different (Thats a good thing)
The revised gameplay feels more solid than the 1st edition. The game itself is, and has been, very fun! The changes improve gameplay without changing what made the game great,

Wonderful Game!
Ashes is everything I hoped it would be. I got drawn in by the art initially but now with a few games under my belt I'm really enjoying the quick back and forth, low down time, chess-like analysis of the board state, and feeling fully powered right out of the gate instead of having to wait many turns to power up your character like in other card games. Grab the core set if you can, it's worth it!

A fun 1v1
The gameplay is fast and quick with fun decisions for players to make.The set comes with alot of decks to get a feel for each character and each one is uniquely different.

Really fun dueling card game!
I always enjoy a good 1 vs 1 card game but I struggle to build decks. Ashes is great because they build the decks for you if you want, but also offer custom deckbuilding for those who like that sort of thing. I think the dice mechanic is a great balance mechanism, giving you just enough powerful actions but keeping you in check too. It seems well balanced after several plays. I've had a lot of fun with it!
