The Magic of 3.5 without the Mystery of Excel
I was hesitant to dip my feet into Pathfinder, given my memories of the 3.5 era were mixed but after a few years of the 5th Edition of DMing the world's most self aggrandizing roleplaying game I was ready for something different, and my players requested Pathfinder 2e. I'm glad I did! While I still have mixed feelings about some of the numbers, the system is a breath of fresh air and a return to characters feeling unique and ready to be challenged! No more pulling punches in combat or having to argue over bonus or free actions. I may not be 100% on board but I'm having a great time, and grognards can't help but complain anyway. ;]

This book is HUGE!
It is a bit intimidating, at over 600 pages for a rulebook, it makes you wonder if you can ever really start playing. It is full of information, but laid out in a way that is easy to read and learn. Classes are explained well, gameplay rules are easy to follow, items are nicely charted, and the hardcover edition is extremely durable. Good thing because I will be turning pages in this book for a long time to come.

Paizo does it again!
I forgot how crunchy Pathfinder is after playing D&D 5e for so long. I really do enjoy all the customization options that Pathfinder provides and it looks like 2e is continuing that tradition with an even greater eye on inclusivity, something that Paizo has always led the way on.
