Downforce @ 1:26:24
Downforce @ 1:21:15

Downforce is our restoration of Wolfgang Kramer's classic. For nearly 40 years, this card-driven racing game has been the delight of gamers and families. Known by many names - Top Race, Daytona 500, Cleveland Grand Prix - we bring it to you now as Downforce.

Fast-paced and easy to learn, Downforce offers the thrill of racing reduced to is essence. Players get their cards, bid for their cars, and the race is off. Betting during the race gives players a chance to back their favorites, even cars owned by other players. Can you get to the turn before them? Can you back the right car to collect your bet? Every turn and every card make a difference.

This restored version features:
1. A gorgeous, double-sided board with two different tracks.
2. Six player power, giving each player a unique advantage.
3. Detailed plastic race cars.

Great Family Game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

It's an excellent game to play with the whole family, plenty of strategy to be had for those who want to strategize, and simplistic enough to easily teach and play. Even the non-gamers in my family greatly enjoyed it!

Great game for people who don't typically play board games. Easy to explain, easy to play, and most importantly fun. As a cherry on top, it has some simpler, alternate rules for younger kids.

A great little filler racing game!

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

My group of 5-6 loves Downforce as a great filler game that only takes about 1/2 hour to play. It gives players plenty of options to advance themselves while aiding or mucking up opponents as they see fit.

Great Race Game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is my first venture into race games. This played well at two players. I look forward to playing it with more players.

A favorite racing game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

We have a bunch of racing games and enjoy many of them. And Downforce is taking a spot right near the top of our favorites. We love the auctioning of cars but being able to bet on any car. And the various Powers add enough spice to keep every race interesting.

Good light+ game

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I picked up Downforce because my non-gamer relatives like their games light, fighty and with some gambling. This checks all the boxes. Though the opening auction isn't an improvement over the original Daytona 500's rules, the rest is straightforward. Component and card quality is great as well. Our 5 player game was well enjoyed.

A fun time and simple gameplay

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This game is fun, as long as you understand what you are getting into. This is a very light game, without depth in strategy; every player gets a set of cards and uses 1 card every round to move 1 up to 6 cars of 6 available. Obviously you would want to win as that gives more points, however along the way, the race stops briefly 3 times to allow bettings, at this time you are trying to choose the winner. At the end of the race you will total the earnings of your cars (depending how well they did), and also your winnings from the three bets you placed. Finally you will lose or substract the auction money you used to acquire your car(s) at the begining of the game. Whoever makes the most money wins. The gameplay its simple, however you will find yourself thinking about the other cars you are also moving as you play cards that help you, but also can give an advantage to the other cars. The game comes with 2 distinct race tracks and 6 miniature F1-like cars (which are nice).
