Unmatched: Battle of Legends Vol 1

Started playing Unmatched recently and ended up jumping in head first. Battle of Legends: Volume One is a solid set to start with since the characters’ abilities tend to be a little less complex than some of the later sets, but the characters themselves are still a lot of fun to play. Medusa is probably one of the easiest heroes to learn the game as, with a special ability that lets her deal 1 direct damage at the start of her turn. King Arthur hits like a truck thanks to his ability to boost attacks, and Merlin has some fantastic schemes that can completely rearrange the battlefield. Alice is a little weird, which is perfect; she can hit harder than Arthur under the right conditions, so managing her size and keeping the fight on her terms becomes the top priority. Sinbad has been the character to beat from this set for my gaming group; even if you spend half the game throwing his best cards in the discard pile, the movement increase alone will exhaust other fighters who can’t keep up with him.

They should call Unmatched you have to collect them all. BOL Vol. 1 was my first box and the one most people recommend as your first UM box. It's nice having 4 characters right out of the box and the characters are all fun and good for different play styles. Too bad the game is being vaulted by RG.

Unmatched has become one of our favorite game night games. Fast enough where you always want to play multiple rounds but, easy enough to teach anyone in only a few minutes, but has enough good choices and strategy that its always satisfying.

Miniature Market never fails to provide the best games around! Recently received Unmatched: Battle of Legends. I’m HOOKED!! I’ve already picked up expansion sets. The card combat is easy to grasp and the miniatures look great! The characters that Restoration and Mondo got their hands on are insane. Ever want to see Luke Cage punch Dracula in his stupid sexy vampire face? Want to see Bigfoot crotch kick Medusa? Then Unmatched is the game for you!

Great and simple fast-paced game! Unique battle system. Quick and fast!

Really like this one-- the characters are a lot of fun together. Our first set, but makes me want to get more. I was worried it would feel too mean, but it is just silly fun. Short and sweet if you like the simple mechanisms and don't mind luck.

As silly as it may seem to have mythical characters from different series battle, it actually works quite well. The game has interesting gameplay and a good amount of replayability. While I normally prefer heavier games, this title has earned a spot on my shelf as well.

This game was a lot of fun. It plays quickly, and the heroes all feel different. There's some luck involved, but it also feels as if smart plays are generally rewarded. Overall a very enjoyable game.

Perhaps the best Unmatched set to start with; the selection of Fighters covers some diverse characters with some interesting effects within the system. Unmatched is a highly rated card-driven asymmetric miniatures game that is attractive and very playable. The game box itself contains a tray with specific slots for all the components, which greatly assists set-up and take-down. You'll find yourself wanting other sets to add extra maps and Fighters to expand your play options.
