Unmatched Little Red Riding Hood vs Beowulf
Unmatched Little Red Riding Hood vs Beowulf Unmatched: Little Red Riding Hood vs Beowulf is part of the Unmatched Game System, an asymmetrical fighting game where players take the role of characters from history, myth, literature, popular culture, etc., represented by unique miniatures and decks designed to evoke their fighting style. Combat is resolved by comparing attack and defense cards. Each card's unique effects bring about interesting decisions to make. Little Red Riding Hood and Beowulf have very different backgrounds and distinctive fighting styles. As with all Unmatched characters, to find the best approach to each character's abilities is an engaging puzzle in itself. Furthermore, players must also adapt to their adversaries capabilities. In my humble opinion, Unmatched has simple but solid rules. It's fast and engaging. Moreover, it's a delicious dessert for my imagination to bring together such diverse characters and pit them against each other. Little Red Riding Hood and Beowulf are great additions to any collection. All in all, this is my Go-To skirmish boardgame.

Good right through to The End
Unmatched is an excellent game system in general, offering unique asymmetrical gameplay in head-to-head battles. This set (the 13th and 14th characters I’ve personally acquired in the series) is a worthy addition. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it for newcomers to Unmatched, as the two fighters featured here, especially Little Red Riding Hood, require a bit of advanced strategic thinking to make them work to their greatest advantage. There are more straightforward fighters in earlier sets that might be better suited for someone exploring Unmatched for the first time. This set also includes a new battlefield map with the clever addition of doors, allowing you to isolate yourself from danger… or your opponent from escape. It’s a great set for an Unmatched fan looking to add some interesting and challenging fighters to their collection.

So far this seems like a great intro into the Unmatched universe. I'd love a little more variety out of it, but I do feel like I knew exactly what I was getting out of only purchasing two characters.

Missed Gem
This game wasn't on my radar until my sister found a used copy of volume one. After that, I purchased multiple expansions because the game is simplistic but incredibly fun.

New mechanics for an already outstanding game.
The asymmetrical tactical nature of Unmatched is one the games biggest draws for me. This expansion adds two more characters with what at first seems like slightly more complicated setup. But after a couple of plays both are easy to understand and add interesting variations on how to approach playing the game.

Buy as expansion
Both, Little Red and Beowulf, are amazing, but do not get as your first box. They take some understanding of the Unmatched system to play well. I highly recommend buying Cobble & Fog first and then this second (you can always buy together - just learn the game with C&B and then branch out to these two). Having those two boxes sets you up for some amazing experiences.

My first set
My first set of unmatched, totally fall in love with this game. I did a lot of research before purchasing and this set have quite a challenging and interesting mechanic for the game. I can't wait for the marvel set that coming out hopefully sometime this year and definitely buying more!
