Unmatched: Marvel - Redemption Row

Being a fan of Unmatched is a slippery slope because you find yourself wanting to own and play every single set! However, if you need to choose only one or two sets from the Marvel lineups, they would be Redemption Row and For King and Country. • I love the theme of redemption in this set, and the art is top-notch and beautiful. • The miniatures in this set are some of the most impressive, dynamic, and memorable of any set. I especially love Moon Knight and Ghost Rider. • I appreciate the new maps that come with the Marvel sets; they introduce item tokens that are randomly placed on the map, and these unique map gimmicks add a new way to play every match and a deeper layer of strategy. • Let’s talk about 1v1 matchups: Moon Knight vs. Luke Cage is very even, but Ghost Rider loses more often against both of them. • The character abilities of all three characters are simpler compared to the rest of the Marvel lineup, yet they're unique in their own right. • I particularly love Moon Knight in this set. Having three different abilities for each of his personalities is very thematic and unique. To play him optimally, you need to plan for your future turns when you're a certain personality to benefit from that special ability. Moon Knight generally has a good matchup against the rest of the Unmatched roster but requires you to be a good strategist. • Luke Cage is the most aggressive and tanky character in the set. He also is the only character in this set who comes with a sidekick. Misty Knight, being a ranged fighter, plays a huge role in his matches. Like Moon Knight, Luke Cage feels like he has a decent shot against the rest of the Unmatched roster. • Ghost Rider’s ability is interesting as it interacts with his movement, dealing damage and cards. It's like a mini-game of economy you have to manage. Though he's the weaker link in this set, he definitely has a chance of winning against MK and LC, but he generally struggles against the rest of the Unmatched roster as well. Overall, Unmatched is the best. 10/10 would recommend.

This is one of two Marvel sets we own. It's a good one! Luke Cage might feel a little OP if you're not up against an experienced player. Moon Knight and Ghost Rider have fun mechanics.

I've only played a few games so far but the characters seem to play very well together. Not a fan of the new map styles, I prefer having two separate maps instead of having one where you can see the art better on the other side. I love the Marvel theme works well for this game, can't wait for some Star Wars themed sets in the future.

Unmatched has become one of our favorite game night games. Fast enough where you always want to play multiple rounds but, easy enough to teach anyone in only a few minutes, but has enough good choices and strategy that its always satisfying.

Bringing the sharp and fast design of Unmatched to the Marvel Universe, Redemption Row is a great entry point to the game for marvel fans everywhere, featuring some of marvel's darker and questionable heroes. As in every unmatched box, the included characters are represented by a pre-built deck of cards, a life dial and a (pre-shaded and quite well sculpted) miniature, the art is top-notch, and you'll be surprised at just how well crafted everything is, down to the amazing (and functional) insert and punch board (which you should keep under the punch board to keep things tight in the box). the game is a combination of hand management and positioning on a map board, rewarding knowledge of your foes deck as much as your own, it feels quite balanced and yet with enough distinction amongst characters. Moon Knight is a gamble and reaction play, with his multiple personalities showing up in his cards and actions, he is fast which allows him to seek his foes or keep his distance as needed, but certainly, a more chaotic choice that feels deeply thematic. Bulletproof man Luke Cage always plays defense cards and has a permanent +2 defense bonus. tough to wear down, he shrugs off damage like no other. He can know an unwary player down with ease and distract them effectively (shutting downturns with “trash talk”) Ghost Rider just blazes around the table in his amazing motorbike, he is charged with hellfire which he uses to fuel some of his cards and attacks, as well as his movement allowing him to dictate the flow of the battle, and even mow down his foes with unstoppable damage. And of course, there is the option of bringing your characters into brawls with any other deck in the unmatched franchise, from Bruce Lee to t-rexes and yeah, other marvel properties, the game can be as wide and diverse as you want to invest. I know Luke Cage can beat down that dino! Though not on the cheap side, Unmatched: Redemption Row is a great buy for Marvel fans of these darker heroes, and a great gateway into the existing games in the series, looking forward to other Marvel properties coming in.

Unmatched truly delivers

Love how true to the characters these abilities are. I have a few Unmatched sets already and this is one of my favorites. If you love Marvel and the Unmatched franchises this is the one to get.

Moon Knight is the standout, but the fighters are fun and the map is great. Superb art as well!
