Unmatched: Houdini vs. The Genie

Now I am a huge fan of Unmatched and I absolutely love the game system but this set has to be the best two-player set ever. You might think because of my title that the genie is a low point or a bad Character but the truth is he is not at all, he is very fun to play and is very interesting and unique. However, Houdini is simply top tier amazing in this set. His boosted benefits and ability to move anywhere on the boat makes him one of the most versatile characters ever made and very very dangerous. If you are reading this just buy the game, it is worth every penny.

Great addition to the Unmatched lineup. The hook of this game is being able to explore diverse characters and themes, both licensed and unlicensed. Glad they are still creating sets with character like this (and not just going all in the licensed media properties).

My son loves these and he's asking to play houdini vs. the genie more than most!

No need to say more, with unmatched you will expect to have new little tweek that make this game constantly growing and with out over powering all that came before.

I love that they're getting back to the non-IP roots of the Unmatched Franchise. With a flood of Jurassic Park/Buffy/Marvel expansions, it's nice to see them drop open-licensed characters. These non-IP expansions are just as fun, but much cheaper than the IP ones (for obvious reasons). This is yet another solid addition to the lineup.

Unmatched: Houdini vs The Genie is a great set to mix in with other Unmatched sets, but it is not a really great standalone set. Reason being is The Genie is one of the strongest characters in all of Unmatched. Houdini is very fun, just doesn't stand up well to the Genie. If you have other sets, this is a great addition. If not, I would recommend Cobble and Fog or Volume 1 first.

I love the Unmatched series and this is another great set. Both characters are a lot of fun but not as fun to play against each other over and over as the bigfoot or raptor set. Best to get another 4-pack first. Better than the T-rex set at least. If you're particularly fond of the 2 characters, it is very thematic so you'll probably really love it.

Recently added this to our collection of Unmatched, currently comprised of this and Cobble & Fog. It's already hard to imagine bringing one set to a game night without the other. Houdini and Bess have excellent mobility and are always ready to go in for an attack, while Genie boasts incredible defense despite burning through his deck. It almost seems like it will come down to who can survive exhaustion the longest, but even then you can't count the Genie out. Both characters are easy to learn and the boost abilities add another layer of strategy when maneuvering.

Really enjoy both these characters as they add enticing reasons to boost maneuvers. Boosting was something that felt very situational in other boxes and I think this gives a good reason to really consider what you can accomplish with a boost.

Another stellar addition to the Unmatched gaming system. Both characters in this set are loads of fun to play. Defineltly a must have for any Unmatched collector.
