Friday is a solo adventure - only you can win the game!

You are helping Robinson, who came ashore on your island, fight against many hazards. At the beginning, Robinson is not very skillful. With each fight he wins you will improve his abilities, but defeats are also helping to get rid off of his worse habits. However, life on the island is energy-sapping, so that Robinson not only gains experiences during his time there, but also starts aging and tends to get clumsy.

In this game, Robinson is represented as a card stack of different behaviors. You are forced to improve this card stack, so you can collect the cards at the end of the game to give Robinson the best chance to win against the tough pirates!

Simple rules to play but challenging to win. A fun game if you don't mind losing

Can you survive?

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is one of my favorite solitaire games. Your goal is to survive long enough to defeat pirates guarding the island you are stranded on. You have a starting deck of action cards with mostly negative and 0-value cards. When you fail challenges, you can use some of your lost health to remove bad cards from your action deck, and when you defeat challenges you get to add them to your deck as action cards with various special effects. You have to be careful, though, because when you run out of action cards you shuffle an aging card into the deck, and if you run out of either life points or aging cards you lose.

Robinson would be SO dead without you...

A nice and challenging solo game, even now that the pot expanded. Comes with wooden tokens, thick boards, and multi-use cards.

Quick and easy solo game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Another small box game that offers a ton of replay value. Losing to the various calamity's that can befall poor Robinson Crusoe is just as fun as winning the game by the skin of your teeth. My only issue with the game is the layout of the rulebook as it can be confusing to follow and will take a few plays to get them down. I would love to see them evolve this into a two player game.

Great Solo Deck Builder!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

In this game, you're helping Robinson Crusoe survive and get off the island. You do this by improving his abilities through facing various conflicts. The game presents a good challenge at all levels, and really makes you think. I've won both times I've played on the easiest difficulty, but only just barely. The challenge will be in winning on higher difficulty levels. The real trick is in how to optimize your deck. When you lose life points, you can get rid of cards from your deck. This will leave you with more powerful cards in your deck, but also fewer cards. Whenever you must reshuffle your deck, though, you add in a card with bad effects. The balance between a small, optimized deck and a larger deck with a few dud cards seems crucial to higher levels of difficulty. The only downside to this game that I can see is fighting the hazards. Like any deck-building game, the cards' power combinations can make for some tricky game play. However, if you're familiar with other deck builders, it's not such a big deal. It does bog the game down ever so slightly, however, so I thought it was worth a mention. Quality and price are both top-notch, and this game is well worth it. If you find yourself often wishing to play a game but having no partners, this game is a great addition to your collection. Overall, this game is awesome. Buy it if you frequently have no one around to play games with. It's fun, challenging, and has great art and a fitting theme. Now go get it!

Amazing solo deck builder

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

In Friday you are trying to help Robinson defeat the many dangerous situations that he finds himself into in the island. You do this by building your deck to combat those situations. When you defeat a hazard, you get to keep the card, which is printed at the top and at the bottom. The top part is the hazard itself (for instance, cannibals attacking you) and the bottom part has combat points and maybe special abilities. The game gets pretty hard, but that's the fun of it. The challenge makes you come back to it to try and beat it. The art is kind of silly and it makes some people stay away from this game. The rulebook is also not the clearest, but watching a video that teaches you how to play takes care of that. If you usually find yourself not having somebody to play games with, or if you already enjoy playing games solo and you don't have Friday, do yourself a favor and get a copy. Friday is always in lists of best solo games.
