Power Grid Recharged: The New Power Plants - Set 1

Good change of pace from the base deck. Nothing groundbreaking but pretty good value for the price.

I got this to add variety to game. I think you just need to check you have right edition of game for this.

Great addition to the game. Not necessary, but cheap upgrade if you are looking for more power plant variety and less predictability. Easily distinguishable from the original power plants: original has a gray border, this set has a green border. Includes 3 “out of the box” variants but also an indirect 4th variant in which you customize your own deck. Variant #1: swapping this deck with the original deck. Variant #2: using both decks - each power plant has two with the same value. The first power plant of that value is removed, but the second power plant of the matching value goes to the market. I found this a bit more work to carry out because you’d have to keep track of the power plants already removed. Variant #3: Big power plants - adds the bigger power plants (with “+” symbol) and extends the game. Power Grid can already be a long game, so I don’t think I’ll be using this variant very often.
