The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

The Galladon wizard has excellent detail, and this is admittedly my first mini from the Dark Heaven Bones line. The description indicates that this is a 25mm Heroic Scale mini (fine for my 28mm collection). Upon receiving the miniature it was evident that it was larger than this. Galladons eye line measured from the bottom of his feet is 32mm. From the bottom of the base to the top of his hat is 45mm with the staff stretching an extra 3mm. Clipping the base back as far as I could to the edge of his foot to the back of his cloak gave me a bit of overhang, but that isn't really hurting anything. The player and I have discussed the situation and the fact that the mercurial nature of magic can cause all sorts of deformities, and he can't wait to use it. The details are going to be quite fun to paint, and more surface area = more joy, right?

Galladon
Reaper makes the most iconic designs of wizards and each new one they put out is a must have for me.

Basic floppy hat wizard
You get what you see in the picture. There isn't much detail to this piece, but that isn't necessarily bad. The staff needs reshaping.

Great to paint!
this is a great piece, aesthetically its very detailed, you can clearly depict the details in the cloak and the hat, his facial expression is clear under the hat. this is a great piece for gameplay also, I used it for my D&D session as a character player.
