The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

Great product
The miniature was perfect for me. I cannot afford the Tiamat miniature by any means so I needed a way to put Tiamat in my campaign and this hydra painting the same colors as Tiamat made a perfect representative

The best Hydra out there by far
This hydra fits in a 75mm base without any trouble, so it is perfect for D&D where it is labeled as a Huge monster, but IMHO it should be placed on a bigger base to give it more life. It comes in three pieces, so I'd advise you to paint the middle head before attaching the other ones.

Exceeds expectations
Game play value is superb, whether this will be used as a monster in a role-playing game or in a war game like the Forces of Nature army in Kings of War. Quality is good, and the detail is impressive for this kind of plastic miniature. The price and value are great, especially for a model that will be used frequently in games. For a show piece, a metal model would have better detail, but the slight loss in crisp edges is made up in durability. Further, you can slightly adjust the pose by immersing the model in hot water until it is flexible, bending it to the desired position, and then holding it in the new position while immersing it in ice water.
