The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

Budget Value.
If you are looking to upgrade from paper standees for your D&D game this is a good way. I found the detail lacking especially in the armor plates on the chest. That said I would definitely buy this again based on price alone.

Dark Heaven Bones - Bronzeheart Minotaur Review
From a sculpting and detail standpoint, I give this figure a 5 out of 5. The detail work is well done and it is very good. I did note that the axe is slightly bent and I was unable to bend it 'straight' - but this was a very minor bend so I may be just a little bit picky here. The Reaper Dark Heaven Bones figures are not pre-primed and, per their instructions, I used a paint on primer (the propellent in aerosol cans is 'bad' for the mini and can cause problems - so I used paint on primer and clear matte finish for the figure). Overall, the figure turned out fantastic. I bought and painted it for a friend who is running a Minotaur PC in a game - and to have even more fun, I painted it as a Holstein. The one actual complaint I had - which lowered my rating from a 5 to a 4 is that the figure was very prone to falling over - and I had to purchase some 40mm bases in order for it to be stable. It did not come with a 40mm base. In the grand scheme of things that is a very minor inconvenience - so I am very pleased with the figure as well as how it turned out. See attached pics with 'before' adding a 40 mm base and 'after' adding the 40 mm base - and now I have more 40mm bases in case I need them for other builds.
