Dark Heaven Bones: Female Centaur

This figure is one of my favorites now that it is all painted up. I bought a few all at once and had a great time thinking up ways to paint them to have the horse and human parts blend together really naturally. I am so proud of the outcome and really it is because the detail in the sculpture is just so amazing you can hardly do it wrong. I did have one out of the 5 I have gotten so far bend really badly. She was basically laying down flat with the base. It took 3 turns in boiling water then into an ice water bath to get it to finally stand up straight. This is not the norm with this figure though. Like I said, 1 out of five were bent funny, the rest were fine. The Reaper Miniatures are usually great at holding paint, but sometimes they have some residue from the molding process so wash them with some warm water and soap. You really do not have to prime them.The details are so clear that you can layer paint on them and still see the details from the sculpture through. They dry brush SO WELL. I am very pleased with this product and have bought a few packages.

I really like this mini but I'm having real trouble getting her to stand upright and hold the spear straight. Bones minis often take on a bend but usually you can heat them and straighten them out. This one has been very stubborn through two attempts. Still a great figure though.
