The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

I have over 10 for my feywild campaign
I really like the tree look but it makes it hard to change their positions and make them look like different characters with heat

Better than pictured!
The picture the website uses really doesn't do this mini justice, so I'm attaching my own. It's a very detailed mini and there are a lot of nice textures. Her knife is a bit bent on mine, but it's nothing some hot water can't fix If you want her tree to look a bit more alive I might try experimenting with clump foliage used in terrain making

Lovily little figure
This dryad is just lovely! The limbs of the legs blend into the tree in a really organic way. For younger players I had the wood grain paint color come up over the body to keep her from looking really exposed. For my adult crowd, however, I had the skin tone start near the joining at the tree. The sculpt allows for many ways to paint the figure to meet your own taste and style. The Reaper Miniatures are usually great at holding paint, but sometimes they have some residue from the molding process so wash them with some warm water and soap. You really do not have to prime them. The details are so clear that you can layer paint on them and still see the details from the sculpture through. They dry brush SO WELL. I am very pleased with this product and have bought a few packages.

Great mini
The way the figure blends into the tree is amazing. The smooth skin gives a lot of room for creative painting and blending, i.e., she doesn't just have to look like a woman half stuck in a tree.
