The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

Good generic NPCs
Other than war game miniatures, it’s hard to find good minis for generic goonsâ€â€I can’t speak for other people’s campaigns, but my players fight large groups of goons as often as they fight distinctive villains. The Anhurian characters from Reaper are great for town guards, bandits, or mercenaries. My Lankhmar group will be seeing them quite a bit, I think.

A bit lacking
it's generic spear-wielding guardsmen. as well detailed as you'd want, but for the price i feel like a 4th would be a better bargain, but they serve their purpose well; cannon fodder.
