The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.
Model contains one metal piece.

Acceptable Proxy Miniature
I picked up this Reaper dragon while checking out the miniature aisle in a local game store. I ended up spending the MSRP $20 in the store but as I was in the market for a black dragon proxy figure for a dark elf army that was easy to spend. The sculpt is good, typical S-shaped fantasy dragon fare. With nice scale detail and large open wings. The plastic used in the bones line is super soft when compared to other non-metal miniature lines. This is a huge downfall for a piece this size and weight distribution. Reaper does supply a metal support tree, DO NOT MISPLACE THIS, otherwise your dragon will just continue to bend and drop backwards due to the weight of the wings. For a cheap dragon figure at a good size I would recommend it but do not expect this thing to last for years to come or stand up to any sort of accidental abuse.
