The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

One of the Better Reaper Bones for a Player Character - Great Details.
Like most reaper bones this one paints ups easily and has some great details. Very low price when considering similar metal or resin miniatures. It makes a great magic user for a PC character or important NPC. Lot of excellent little touches you can offset with different colors. This does mean that time will be have to be invested in painting it to get the best effect though. Remember there is no priming needed with miniatures like this unless you are sure they will be roughly handled. Check Reaper's forums for more info about painting Reaper Bones.
