The Bones material is a polymer plastic. It is light-weight and slightly flexible, and is very durable. You can paint a Bones figure straight out of the package, and that paint job will also be pretty durable. Bones figures are as detailed as metal figures, for a much lower cost. Bones miniatures are produced with integral (built-in) bases, but it is easy to cut the miniature off of the base if you prefer to put it on something else. It is also easy to cut the figures apart to convert them into different poses or change weapons.

Got lucky
Was looking for a gunslinger to replace a mini that shattered after hitting a boat on my table, this fits the bill great. Takes just a little primer and seems great so far

You need a gunslinger, you say?
I see no badge, so feel free to use him as any sort of old west gunman you wish. Excellent mini

If you need a cowboy....
This piece was actually pretty good for what I needed. I noticed there aren't many gunslinger minis out there so this worked out pretty well

Texas Rangers, the MiB of the CSA.
In Deadlands, it's the 1870's and the Civil War is still going on. But it's the Weird West, things haven't been right since '63 when the dead rose to attack the living at Gettysburg, then the Great Quake in '68 destroyed California but lead to the discovery of ghost rock. And a slew of supernatural happenings have been plaguing the Weird West ever since. In response to this, President Jeff Davis has sent the Texas Rangers to investigate, report, and "deal with" these incidents. The figure here is a gunfighter with two six-shooters. No badge visible, but Texas Rangers tend to go places where they conceal their badges until they need the authority or intimidation factor. The sculpt is pretty good with nice detail and giving him a regular handgun instead of a gatling pistol makes him usable in more "normal" western scenarios.

Classic gunfighter
This figure is labeled as a male Texas Ranger, although he doesn't have a badge like the female Ranger. I feel that this is in his favor, giving him a bit more versatility as a character. The character is aiming one pistol and ready to draw his second, giving this guy more of a gunfighter vibe than the other Ranger. He's also got the classic button up shirt and pants (pretty readily paint these as either jeans or something more khaki-like to go with the texas ranger theme) which makes me think of him more as a generic wild west character than anything in specific. This guy is a good model for bones who isn't too thin as to be easily bendy, and without too much fiddly detail. A nice addition to any wild west set.
