Nice enhancement
Provides better balance at the begining of the game.

This expansion helps speed up the early turns and we will not play without it!

Must have!
This is really a must-have, no-brainer purchase. The extra goods at the start and expanded abilities really make it essential!

What all other reviewers have said - this is a must
A number of reviewers have discussed far more elegantly than I can add. If you really like Terraforming Mars and want more variety prior to set up (expansions generally provide more Corporation card(s) with abilities, but the Prelude changes the initial parameters so this increases HUGELY the endless variety). For two players, Terraforming Mars takes us about 3 1/2 to 4 hours, so having the game as interesting as possible from the initial turn(s) is a real bonus. Highest Recommendation.

Helpful expansion
I found the prelude expansion to be helpful in getting the game moving quicker. It does provide several great options to help get the game started. I found the rulebook pamphlet to be pretty good, but just a little vague in one or two spots. I would definitely recommend getting it though.

Adding another layer
The prelude expansions adds another layer to the game both in solo play and with other players. I won’t be playing without it.

Necessary expansion?
Prelude cuts TM game time by about 20-30 minutes, which I think is absolutely needed. Games without prelude can drag pretty bad. I also like that the cards give you something to focus on from the beginning, which can help set your strategy. Necessary expansion in my opinion.

A Must Have XPac
There are plenty of great expansions for many games, but this is a top class, must have expansion to the base game. It isn’t the kind of expansion that “fixes†anything or even drastically changes the game. It is, instead, an expansion that speeds up the game without rushing it and gives a nudge to what strategies one might play in a game with tons of available strategies.

Must-have
Terraforming Mars is a great game, though sometimes a little long, with this expansion everyone gets a starting boost which makes the game end faster and makes it so you have a different experience every time you play it, definitely a must-have.

Essential
This expansion is essential for Terraforming Mars fans. It's speeds up the early game a bit and gives a slight asymmetric start. Great fun!
