Must have expansion

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

This is probably my favorite expansion that we have seen yet for Legendary. We really get in to a lot of characters that I love and have been looking forward to play with. My favorite team in the comics is the Illuminati and Vol. 1 here delivers. Not to mention that we also get to team up with the Cabal (Thanos's group of baddies)! This expansions gives you so many new aspects that we haven't seen yet! It really shoots the replay value through the roof! Still annoyed that Upper Deck, a huge card manufacture didn't use quality stock for this game as a whole so for me sleeving is a must and that adds to my over all cost.

Excellent expansion with an interesting added gameplay mode

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is the second of two big box expansions currently available in the Marvel Legendary Family (a third has been announced for release in the near future: Secret Wars Vol. 2). The big box expansions are a great value relative to the core sets and the small box expansions as they actually come with more heroes and masterminds than the core sets at a cheaper price since the starter cards are not needed. Thus, if you have limited funds and want to expand your core set, I suggest buying a big box expansion first. In addition to the new heroes, masterminds, and villain groups, Secret Wars introduces a few new mechanics to the game and an optional gameplay mode where one player plays as the mastermind character against all of the other players. This adds another unique and challenging option.
