A fun expansion. Henchmen groups are always exciting and this expansion has 2 of them.

.. but I finally picked this expansion up. Quite frankly, this grab bag expansion just didn't offer me any characters that I was all that interested in and that's what tends to drive my Legendary purchases. But there was a pandemic and I was craving something new so I went for it. Glad I did! J Jonah Jameson didn't interest me as a Mastermind when the set released and he still doesn't. He's mechanically sound though as he essentially works as a temporary place for you to be bagging your cards, but you will have to take them back one day though. No new schemes in this expansion, which I think is the only time they've done this. Instead you get two new henchmen sets. They're... henchmen. Fine to have but unremarkable. 5 new heroes. Howard the Duck and Man-Thing are just sort of there. They definitely feel like promo sets that might not have been as rigourously playtested as heroes usually are. They're ok. Jessica Jones and Squirrel Girl both hold some interest to me as characters and they both feature the new keyword, Switcheroo. Reading about it in advance, I wasn't that interested in the keyword, but having played with them now, I have to admit they are really handy. How many times have you had to consider not recruiting any characters because they'd mess up your deck synergy? With Switcheroo you can go ahead and recruit them and then switch them out later for something that goes better with your deck. Handy! The last hero is Ms America. I knew of her before but I didn't really have an opinion. I really like her in the game though. She has a lot of Teleport like Nightcrawler does, and just like him, that means you can keep deferring cards to let them accumulate to do something much bigger later.
