Slings & Arrows @ 26:00

Anyone, anywhere. Unmatched is a fast-paced game of tactical combat between unlikely opponents. Pick your favorite hero, choose a map, and use your hero's unique deck and abilities to win the day.

All the world's a stage in Unmatched: Slings & Arrows, while the Globe Theater is a battlefield. William Shakespeare steps up to the fight along with three of his wondrous characters: The Wayward Sisters, Hamlet, and Titania. Shakespeare's deck, designed by Jonathan Guberman, was one of the winning decks in a 2020 design competition, and it rewards players for completing lines in iambic pentameter. The Wayward Sisters, a runner-up in that competition from Jason Hager, is a multi-hero deck that challenges you to bring the witches' potion machinations to life with cunning coordination.

Shakespeare
Places, places, everyone! The immortal Bard of Avon puts quill to quire, crafting lines that cut as deep as any blade. Suit the action to the world! Sidekick: Actors.

Weyward Sisters
Lizard's leg, wool of bat, fillet of a fenny snake. Brew a charm of powerful trouble, and your opponent's life you're sure to take.

Hamlet
To Be, and draw cards, or Not To Be, and empower thine attacks, that is the question . . . and also the strategy you must master to avoid a murder most foul. Sidekick: Rosencrantz & Guildenstern

Titania
&emps; Set your heart at rest, fair player, for the Queen and King of the Fairies shall beguile your opponent with wondrous glamours. What fools these mortals be! Sidekick: Oberon.

Worth addition for Unmatched fans

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

A run new arrival in the Unmatched series. I've stayed away from most of the licensed properties, except for Jurassic Park to get the dinos (which my kids love), and I'm really happy to see some more public domain characters making it to the table. Making The Bard himself one of the charaters is truly inspired. These days, we're mostly playing co-op vs the Moth Man, so I look forward to seeing the Wyrd Sisters go up against the Jersey Devil, and similar (un)match-ups. All that said, I still have some quibbles with Unmatched as a skirmish game -- principally, that it doesn't do enough to promote movement and positioning. Too many games just see the combatants rush together and then stand there, taking swings at one another. This set doesn't do anything special to relieve that problem, so if you aren't already on the Unmatched train this isn't fundamentally going to alter your opinion.
