It is what it says it is

Vallejo's acrylic medium with mica flakes. By itself it's slightly silvery, so anything it's mixed with will also be slightly lightened in color. It's a small change, but noticeable.

Good just by itself for adding shimmer and glow

I use this on fantasy miniatures for things like crystal balls and gems. Dry brush it on to add sparkles! It also works well to mix with a base color to turn anything into a metallic color.

Metallic paint from Vallejo without the pigment! This stuff Rocks!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is definitely my favorite specialty medium from Vallejo. I think It's probably my favorite medium in general. what you get in this bottle is the metallic flakes from Vallejo's metallic paint without any colored pigment. This means three things. 1. You can brush it on straight out of the bottle—or slightly diluted—to achieve a pearlescent effect when painted on top of other colors. It looks particularly cool over white paint. 2. You can mix any other color into this medium to create your own iridescent and metallic paints. I've had a lot of success mixing it with vibrant colors to compliment other metallic effects. It also works to reproduce some of the shimmering effects that you might observe on some insects. This can add some extra flare to spiders and other insectoid creatures because it makes them look a bit more exotic and venomous. 3. You can use this to dilute other metallic paints in order to make them appear duller. This is a subtle effect but it can extend the uses of your paints by giving you lighter shades of other colors, such as having pale gold or silver colors.
