The Vale of Eternity

Haven't had the chance to get this to the table yet but it came quickly and in perfect condition. Really anticipating playing this game.

I love a good engine builder and this game allows you to get an awesome feeling engine running in a short amount of time

This game may only have 70 cards, but the combo potential in this game is high even with just a few cards. The multiuse nature of being to sell cards for the currency of the game allows the game to have some fun cards even if they are situational. I do wish there were a little bit more cards so you don't have to reshuffle when playing with 4 (or with 3 if you get good card draw), but this game packs a surprising amount of punch and beats out many bigger, more sprawling, and less affordable games. I fear some people will be turned off by perceived luck in this game, due to if you can get ongoing effects early enough or not. Yet I've found that I score pretty consistently within 8 rounds in this game. I'm not always a fan of games that have artificial constraints, but the constraints of how many cards you can have in play at a time and of the currency system add some interesting drafting decisions, as a lot of cards are impossible to play unless you get a $3 or $6 coin, and balancing when you want to pay to get rid of cards, as doing so early is cheaper. There are some targeted attacks in the game, which I generally dislike unless when playing with 2 players, but here sometimes you actually want your cards to be discarded to free up space, and while opponents can target a player and type they cannot target a specific card of yours. Some of the ways the cards are worded could be better to clarify edge cases. Additionally, I wish the weird pentagon board to organize the cards by type was instead a foldout long strip that you organized the cards by row. The pentagon shape is unwieldy.

Each player marks 2 cards every round that you can either sell, add to your hand, or lay out in front of you. The cards put in your tableau have instant, ongoing, or cleanup phase affects. There is a limit of 4 coins in your inventory and the number ofĥ cards in your tableau cannot exceed the round number. By the end of 10 rounds, you are triggering multiple cards and feel like you have a solid engine in around 30 minutes.

This game is easy, quick and fun and totally enjoyed playing it.

Fun card drafting and engine building mechanics. Wonderful design. Easy to play and teach.

This. Game. Is. Awesome! So much fun. I received it last week and probably have played it 50 times. It is so addictive and so fun with all the card combos. Every game is different and unique with surprising combos and so may different ways to win. A “must have” game to any collection.

Beautiful art and satisfying gameplay loop. A great TCG-adjacent experience without all the fuss of booster packs.

It’s a bit bland and the theme feels tacked on. There’s no real suspense and no thrill in this Game. The artwork is nice though, the rules mostly clear and easily comprehensible. Stil - would not recommend.
