28mm Scale

Classic Fantasy is Wargames Atlantic's range of 28mm hard plastic sets covering the Classic Fantasy tropes of literature and role playing games. Sets in this range should appeal to both RPG players and tabletop wargamers.

They are the shades of the men of Sparta, Athens, Thebes, and Macedon. When a Necromancer plunders the coins meant for Charon, she can reanimate their remains and bind them to her will. Only by removing the skull from the body, or destroying the coins, may the warriors break their curse and return to the grave.

This hard plastic box set allows you to build up to 32 Skeleton Warriors equipped with bow, spear, sword, or pike and with options for full command.

Plastic components.

Absolutely awesome!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Do you want your Ancient Greek squad to rise back from the dead after getting killed the last turn? Or maybe your adventurers are exploring an old crypt and awoke the dead? Perhaps the evil museum curator recently acquired a rare amulet that has revived the skeletal warriors on display? Whatever you use these awesome minis for, everybody will think it cool because these minis are rather splendidly designed! Easy to build too!

An okay, inexpensive skeleton horde

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

This isn't a bad set of miniatures, but they're also not the greatest I've ever seen. The box contains 8 identical sprues of various parts. Each of those 8 has enough parts to assemble 4 complete skeletons. There are several weapon choices available, with each sprue having 1 sword, 1 bow, 1 pike, 4 shields, and 3 spears. Other optional accessories are a 1 quiver of arrows, 1 blowing horn, and 1 horned skull that can be attached to a spear to make a battle standard. Head options include 3 closed mouth skulls, 1 open mouth skull, and 1 helmeted skull. The customization options were what led me to buy this set as opposed to multiple 2-3 mini sets with identical poses. There will be parts left over from each sprue. Be warned: If you don't enjoy assembling miniatures, this is not the set for you. If you have experience putting together miniatures, this set isn't too bad. The details on the sculpts were adequate, but none of the figures really "pop" when you finally get them assembled and onto your table. I was very impressed that there were virtually no mold lines whatsoever on the models that had to be removed. My issues came from where the parts were cut from the sprue, and that's more my fault for not having a good pair of sidecutters. I bought these with the plan of using them for D&D and they fit rather well with the WizKids/Reaper minis I already own. Overall, these minis are not a bad value if you're mostly concerned with quantity over quality. There are better skeleton miniatures out there, but you will pay a lot more for them.
