28mm Scale

"Shut your eyes and go in!" General Fritz Bayerlein's exhortation to his Panzer Lehr troops. This elite unit was formed from veterans who participated in the fighting on the Eastern Front, North Africa, and Sicily and was outfitted with the latest equipment of the German war machine. Formed late in the war, they took part in some of the heaviest fighting in France in 1944 until their eventual surrender in April 1945 within Germany.

This hard plastic box set allows you to build up to 30 soldiers equipped with rifles, MP-40s, Panzerfaust, MG-42s, grenades, pistols, and more. Optional tool and equipment arms can be used to convert these into normal tank crew as well.

Bases are not included.

Achtung Bay-buh!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This kit is an amazing deal. You can easily build a historic panzer grenadier platoon with this one kit. This includes an LT, 3 sergeants and six squads of four men (each squad has a LMG team made up of a gunner and assistant gunner). It is nice to see lots of rifle armed options. The MP40 was not as common as Bolt Action claims it is. It was usually used by NCOs and junior officers. Another nice option is that you can make dismounter panzer crews. These plastics work well with Warlord Games existing German ranges. You may need to trim down the arms a little though. The Atlantic Wargames scale well but the arms are a little too wide. This being said, I recommend using the Warlord Games metal Panzer Lehr box to supplement the AW box. This will give you a LMG team, several panzerfaust armed rifleman and some unique NCO models. You will have plenty left over men for fleeing Tank crews. My favorite bit on the sprue are the fuel cans.
