Inspired by the best-selling and award-winning War of the Ring board game, War of the Ring - The Card Game immerses players in the quest of The Lord of the Rings. The game allows them to explore their own version of the trilogy, using uniquely designed card decks representing the strengths and weaknesses of the peoples and characters who fought in the War of the Ring.
Against the Shadow enables players to experience the adventure alone or cooperatively with a friend. You will control the Free Peoples, using the normal rules and cards included in the base game. Automated players control the Shadow decks, which are entirely replaced by the cards included in this set, tailored for solo/cooperative play. In conjunction with a simple flowchart, the new Shadow decks provide a sophisticated challenge for one or two players.

Challenging
This expansion replaces all the shadow cards with new versions to remove most of the decisionmaking on the part of the player, so that you can play by yourself or cooperatively against the shadow. The player has a priority tree that determines what the shadow does, mostly based on either random selection or what was played last. While the moves resulting from this tree are often suboptimal, the shadow gets a lot of actions and most of its cards will recurr.

A Great Game, Now In Co-op!
Does what it says on the tin, gives one or two players the chance to play the Free Peoples against the Shadow. Contains replacements for Shadow decks and some in-game locations as well as instructions and a flow chart to determine what the Shadow's AI will do.

Excellent addition for more variations of play
More bang for buck if you're a solo player or wish to play co-op, highly recommended!
