The battles of World War Two ravaged the entire world. Where the Band of Brothers starter set is very much concerned with the European Theatre in the wake of D-Day, our brand new starter set shifts focus to the Pacific, pitting the United States Marine Corps against Japanese Island defenders in some of the most brutal and hard-fought battles of the War.
The new starter set is focused on the island-hopping campaigns enacted by the US to reclaim Japanese advances. Unlike the land war that raged in Europe, North Africa, and the Soviet Union, where vast armies of tanks and infantry could manoeuvre and fight over large tracts of open ground, the Pacific campaign was fought mostly on a series of relatively small islands, densely packed with jungles and protected by the sea. Each island had to be landed on, fought for, and the defenders rooted out of, individually.
Containing two opposing forces set amongst the many islands in the Pacific theatre, Island Assault! contains the Bolt Action 2nd edition rules as well as a scenario booklet guiding you through your first steps in the game. Before long you'll be adding to your new army and wreaking havoc on your foes be they fighting for Uncle Sam or the Emperor!

Nice Starter Set
Ovetall a standard Bolt Action starter set with 24 Japanese infantry and 24 US Marines, a small rulebook, dice, and even some pillboxes. Taking off one point because of some noticable mold line issues on the units. Also a bit odd the Marines get a halftrack while the Japanese get a tank, but it's nice to get a Japanese tank given most players probably won't be buying Japanse tanks separately for their forces since they weren't a large part of the island war.

Good starter
Came with plenty of units and can easily be built as a stronger force than what it says on the box. Not a fan of the transport the u.s. Marines got, but is what that is. Also wish it came with more pin markers and dice for when you expand your armies.

Pocket Size Rulebook
Product shipped fast as usual. Unfortunately my box was a little damaged and the rule book was damaged as well. Thankfully customer service was quick to help me with a partial refund. Fair warning about the rule book for those just looking at the pictures above: The book itself is not the full-size I hardback book. It is a paperback pocket version. Everything else looks great though!

Another great starter
Warlord delivers another great starter set. Everything you need to get started is right here in the box. It provides a great base to start with. You can easily expand on the forces in the box. Warlord typically offers up great intro sets and this one continues the trend
