Madness Is the Only Escape

The Underdark is a subterranean wonderland, a vast and twisted labyrinth where fear reigns. It is the home of horrific monsters that have never seen the light of day.

It is here that the dark elf Gromph Baenre, Archmage of Menzoberranzan, casts a foul spell meant to ignite a magical energy that suffuses the Underdark and tears open portals to the demonic Abyss. What steps through surprises even him, and from that moment on, the insanity that pervades the Underdark escalates and threatens to shake the Forgotten Realms to its foundations. Stop the madness before it consumes you!

Out of the Abyss is a Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition adventure for characters of levels 1-15.

Fun adventure, excellent book

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

First off, this book like all of the 5E books is of fantastic quality. The art work is great and the book is extremely well made and sturdy. The adventure itself is a great time. The story is set up so that it branche sout to multiple directions and has a sandbox feel to it. Player's will be able to choose from numerous different paths and go at some events in the order that they choose. This is a nice approach as a lot of adventures seem to lead players along on tracks. There are rules for demon lords which is almost worth the price alone. The biggest downfall is that the content is not always arranged in an easy to read manner. You will be flipping around a lot to find what your after. Be sure to read it beforehand and make some notes so you dont need to constantly be in the book. Overall a great book / adventure. 4/5
