Beautiful Art
I love the coloring and finish of the art on this book. The alt cover is a great addition to a collection of books meant for display.

A wonderfully different type of adventure.
The printer has seemed to have an issue with the last two (Alt cover versions) released adventures. Damaged pages and pint/red ink staining. It seems to be a consistent complaint. That aside, this adventure is a different one. I am both dreading and excited to return to college as a fresh-faced, inexperienced 18 to 21-year-old. The art is wonderful, places/maps are well thought out, as are the NPCs. The premise of college being your dungeon will cause you to face your role play in a whole other way.

Fun setting to play with younger folx.
I bought this as a setting to DM for my niece and nephew who are just now getting into DnD. They love high-school/university life/style animes, so we'll see how it goes. Super exciting!

Strixhaven is lovely!
It's a wonderful module! I can understand the disagreements going around about it but in my personal opinion, as a person who likes some homebrew and freedom with flavoring. I believe Strixhaven lets the DM harness a lot more creativity.

Only for collectors
The alt cover isn't among the best of D&D 5es although cover products. I would still recommend it to collectors. But for folks just wanting it for good art, I don't enjoy this as much as others.

D&D Hogwarts!
I read through the book as soon as it came in (which was shortly after the official release) and my family and I are thrilled to play this! The mechanics for some of the extracurricular activities look like a lot of fun! Also, Owlins!

Sick art, OK rules
The artwork on the alt cover is a step up from the past several books. Not quite as cool as the old Volo's and Xanthars alt covers, but cool nonetheless. The actual meat of the book is all about the wizard school Strixhaven. Very niche setting that comes with new new feats and abilities which are strictly tied to it. You are not supposed to use them outside strixhaven. I guess you could homebrew something though. Average book. Niche. Not necessary for most DMs or players.
