Iconic Pathfinder Monk, primer a bit heavy

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Overall a great duo of monks in dynamic poses. The primer is a bit thick and obscures details in places, and one's face was a bit blotchy (either from primer clumping or a bad cast). I can trim them and maybe make them into scars. 5 star concept but 2 stars for the specific ones I received. 3.5 stars.

As usual, Pathfinder Battles minis are great quality and incredibly detailed. Also, $5 for 2 minis is insane regardless of quality, so this is an amazing deal.

Very good

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

Very nice detail, a really cool pair of miniatures, just the kind of monk I was looking for. The only cons I saw are that, besides from the relatively thick primer coat, some of the mouldlines are persistent, giving one the need to remove them and thus removing some of the primer. And, it would perhaps be better to have them a little bigger, IMHO. Even so, it is a great mini and it is very good to have this minis series, I have been looking at the adventurers and monsters and they all look great.

Brilliant in design, horrible in execution. Pre Prime is trash and ruins the figures details.

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

I really love the deep cut line of figures...in theory. I feel that the entire deep cut line by Whiz Kids could have been a real game changer but sadly they missed the mark. The problem is that they pre primed all their figures. I have no idea why, but they did and it absolutely ruined these beautiful figures. The primer is laid on too thick in some areas completely wrecking the details of the figures. The mold lines are pretty bad on these figures already and by dumping copious amounts of primer on it only makes the mold lines more prominent. I have ended up stripping as much of the primer as possible but sadly the primer is very difficult to strip away. I am using my own black primer and when it's all said and done, a lot of detail is lost and the amazing, detailed figures that could have been are left looking pretty bland and pathetic. Please Whiz Kids, release a line without the primer, focus on the detail of the figure and you will have a hit on your hands. Priming figures isn't helping anyone as priming figures is literally the easiest thing to do and if new painters can't get that down then they should probably just buy the pre painted figs. By priming them in white, and doing it so poorly, you are chasing away the mid tier and high tier painters who love your great poses and designs but can't stand the ****** prime job.
