D&D Nolzur's Unpainted Minis: W4 Male Dragonborn Fighter

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

One of the things I really appreciate with the 'Nolzur' brand of minis is that all of the plastic minis are pre-primed which saves me time and effort and lets me get directly into painting. A second, really nice touch, is that the packaging that they come in is 'form fitted' to the figure - so you can store or carry them wherever without needing to buy another case and without worrying about them getting damaged or broken. I will note, however, that you need to make some adjustments to the packaging after you put the bases on the figures - but that's just a couple of minutes with a sharp hobby knife and thus far, I've been lucky enough to use the original packaging - which is good because it helps me stay organized and lets me only bring 'what I want to bring' instead of bringing multiple cases where I may only need a couple of figures from each case. The quality and detail are superb, and I'm very happy with the detail and the pricing.

Inspired by Saturday Morning Cartoons?

Average rating of 3 out of 5 stars

Like all the figures from this manufacturer you need to look closely under a strongly directional light to spot all the mold lines. The sculptors for this line are obviously ruled by the Rule of Cool and not any practical sense. I mean who would want spikes on their armor that practically grab your opponent's axe head and direct its strike into your clavicle? And that sword: seriously? Where are my nippers? The figure on the left was a fast straightforward paint and the one on the right looked okay after a bit of trimming. One thing I did notice was that sometimes the skin of the figures was a more outer layer than the armor, like the heads were sculpted separately from the body.

Great Dragonborn!

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Just started a new campaign for my kids ages 4 and 7. Bought a tabaxi and a dragon born for their characters. Perfect and durable! Great price and great shipping time (we are rural and shipping is typically double the usual time, but miniature market always ships fast!)

Great figures

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Up until Nolzur's Dragonborn figures were notoriously rare so it's good to see them showing up. That said this duo is pretty cool...though the one with the cloak is far cooler looking, they both have decent details and look impressive on a gaming table. Note to painters: I've ended up with multiple sets of these guys.. The first time I didn't native they were both sculpted with metal masks! Which are a cool detail. Now...if they would only start sculpting casters or rogues!
