Good Value and Decent Price
First my primary complaint: 3 miniatures were broken. Two were easily fixed (hand broke off and needed some glue) one miniature was missing its head entirely and could not be repaired. Fortunately the broken miniatures were not rares so it wasnt a big issue overall. At the reduced price each mini averaged less than 3 dollars each which is hard to beat but because the minis in this set are not very popular, several of them are available for individual purchase at even lower prices at miniature market. However, that being said, the minis are pretty flexible in use and can stand in for other non-ravnica setting miniatures. This is the second case of miniatures that I have ever bought and TBH, I would not have bought this set if it was not on reduced price. But with the reduced price makes it easily $50 to $150 cheaper than most other cases (depending upon popularity of the case, it is hard to beat the price overall.

Brings D&D's newest setting (and Magic: The Gathering lore) to life!
For a 360 degree look at every mini in the set and the lore behind them, check out our video review on YouTube at The Gallant Goblin channel. Here's a summary of our thoughts: This set has a lot to love for Magic fans, D&D players who want to jump into the new Ravnica setting, and even D&D players who have no intention of ever going to Ravnica. There are 10 unique guilds in Ravnica, along with guildless citizens and beasts, as well as various other new content introduced in the Guildmasters' Guide to Ravnica sourcebook. With just 44 figures (45 counting the premium Niv-Mizzet Red Dragon sold separately), this set does an admirable job of representing snippets of all of those, with only the Simic guild getting a noticeably shorter shrift. The most notable omissions were clearly left out for a reason, such as them being Huge or greater in size or being niche NPCs. Many of the figures can double for Forbidden Realms characters or creatures, with humanoid figures usable as wizards or paladins or druids and other creatures represented here such as a centaur and minotaur, which are newly playable races, as well as popular monsters like a demon, drake, sphinx, medusa, lizardfolk, gargoyle, and the like. Glancing through the set, there's only 5 or so figures that are so unique you'd be surprised to see them if you haven't read the Ravnica sourcebook, and even those can be incorporated pretty easily (like the weird being an elemental that's a fusion of two elements rather than purely one). The paint jobs are a bit spotty on some of the figures, but they're pretty fantastic for the Icons of the Realms line and for mass-produced prepainted minis in general. There are some gorgeous translucent pieces. For Magic players or lore enthusiasts, you may notice that though many of the minis are named as generic creatures, they are based on art for legendaries characters and planeswalkers. Some famous characters unofficially represented in this set include Ral Zarek, Vraska, Domri Rade, Lavinia, Tajic, Emmara Tandris, and Fblthp. This was a great touch by WizKids that shows care and thought went into the design of this set. The only minor strike on the Value category is that there are no variants in this set so when you get duplicates of a mini in a case, they all look the same. However, there are also no variants masquerading as different numbers either, meaning you do get 44 unique minis. Overall we loved this set. We weren't sure we even wanted to play Ravnica when it was announced, but the lore and these colorful and creative minis won us over. As for price, we shop around a fair amount because collecting these minis ain't cheap, but for the most part you just cannot beat Miniature Market's price. Throw in their reliable shipping, even during the holiday season, and their wide selection of in-stock bricks and cases, and we've bought probably 75% of our minis from Miniature Market, with most of the rest going to our friendly local game stores.
