But if a waste unfortunately. If not customized it wastes about half the detail on the mini.

It's okay
The other kind with the mini character and full tentacles looks so much cooler. But interesting variety I guess.

Lots of fun
I just wanted to paint a giant octopus. This was a lot of fun.

Great proxy model
This model was a perfect proxie for a side project. Beautiful and easy to clean in prep for priming and painting.

Good overall, but had a fair sized gap in it that can be easily filled. Good sized for a large octopus, but calling it a giant one might be a stretch. Easy to paint, and should give your PCs a bit of a challenge, or prove to be a helpful animal companion.

A good model, but involves more effort than you'd think.
A word of advice: strip the primer off before you do anything else. You will still be able to see the mold lines you have to trim, and you will discover the primer filled in some "deep cuts" you will have to fill in. With the primer removed, the bottom piece of the octopus looks not so much like part of the animal, but rather like the octopus is resting on some sort of VTOL platform. If you want a flying octopus you're all set; otherwise fill the gap. The model is actually well assembled with very few places showing where the separations are. These are easily filled with CYA glue. The suckers on mine were not so clearly defined as the photograph, but were sufficient for my purposes. This is a good model for the money and I'd recommend it. I had been looking for something simple as a break from more complex models, but the effort involved surprised me.
