In protective plastic but minis broken

Average rating of 2 out of 5 stars

I've bought many booster cases from Wizkids, but I've never had a case come with so many broken pieces. Sometimes the minis fall out of their plastic protector but that wasn't the case here; they were all still in their packaging, but with loose bits rattling around the box from broken legs, off their stands, etc. I will note that this didn't appear to be MM's fault, though the shipping instructions were ignored. Cool models within if you're willing to glue half of them back together.

A nice set for Pathfinder 1e's last adventure path

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

For a 360 degree look at every mini in the set and the lore behind them, check out our video review on YouTube at The Gallant Goblin channel. Here's a summary of our thoughts: If you are running Tyrant's Grasp, the adventure path to which this set corresponds, this product has a great collection of miniatures. Even the set dressing pieces are lore relevant, including some of the Bloodstones of Arazni. For those wanting a diverse sampling of undead, this is your set, from the aquatic drowned draugr to the disturbing mohrg (labeled murderous undead) to more standard skeletons. There's also choices for heroic characters like Lastwall soldiers, paladins, knights, and generals. Multiple Pathfinder deities are represented as well as notable factions such as the fanatical Razmir cultists, the ant-like formians (which also appear in Starfinder), and the shepherds of dead souls like various psychopomps and the thanadaemon. Many of the rares are impressive with the empyrean angel as a standout and the time dragon looking much better in person than pictures might indicate. We had some issues with the rarity distribution of the set. For depicting a clash of armies, you may want more of some figures than you get here, while other figures may be duplicates (like skeleton soldiers) that you already have a ton of from other sets. Many of the humanoid figures, while nicely sculpted and painted, may not do much for you if you aren't running the specific adventure path. The minis all look great but almost every unboxing report indicates some broken pegs or minis. A couple scorpionfolk pegs broke *after* we opened ours despite being fairly gently handled and stored. One of Pharasma's rocks was also broken off in our set from the get-go. This can be repaired with superglue but just be aware that this set is slightly prone to breakage, though not nearly as bad as some of the worst offenders (*cough*ShatteredStar*cough*). Overall, we enjoyed this set and it had some lovely and worthwhile additions to our collection. As D&D players, researching Pathfinder lore has inspired a lot of ideas for our campaigns and most of the figures are relevant in both settings. Pathfinder players will likely find even more to love. And since most of the creatures are not too niche, these figures are likely to continue to be usable in Pathfinder's 2nd edition ruleset which will be coming later in 2019.
