D&D Nolzur's Marvelous Unpainted Minis: W11 Mastiff & Shadow Mastiff

Got two of these for a campaign I'm running. One of my players pulled the mastiff patch from a patchwork robe. .. all of a sudden I have to write in two giant dogs into the story. I love their little saddles. I also gave the players a monkey pet so he will ride the mastiffs.

Perfect miniature to add the perfect touch to your halfling character. He is the goodest of boys!

This one surprised me, actually. I did not notice that on a picture, but one of the mastiffs packs a saddle and a size suitable to serve as perfect mount for your party's hafling,

It wasn't super clear to me from the promo image that the shadow mastiff is made from transparent plastic, so let me make that clear. Despite that surprise, these are fun sculpts and the shadow mastiff has a nice menacing pose and lost of wispy trails on it. I like the mastiff a lot; it would make a perfect mount for a gnome or halfling, and could be reasonably used for stuff like Frostrgrave or Mordheim in addition to D&D. Mold lines aren't too bad on these, either.

I really like how the shadow mastiff is clear. It is a great opportunity to play around with inks. Would definitely recommend these.

I bought this set only for the Shadow Mastiff, which is nicely done in transparent plastic. The standard mastiff is also a nicely detailed figure, though I'd rather have had the option of just getting two of the transparent ones.. Really can't go wrong with Nolzur's though, great value.
