The glittering Sapphire Dragons are the most territorial of all the gem dragons to a dangerous degree. They collect magical weapons and armor as the centerpieces of their hoards and vault them away in isolated caverns.

A Sapphire Dragon's psionic nature is evident in horn and bone structures of their body. Their tail barbs and horn tips are all separate pieces, but they float in place, held aloft by the dragon's psychic force while the dragon lives. These levitating horns and spines shift slightly with the dragon's mood, bobbing in amusement or flaring dangerously with anger. Its scales and wing membranes are varied shades of blue, ranging from the light tones of a spring sky, to the rich, crystalline azure of sapphire gems and compressed glacial ice. In the light, many of their scales glitter and shine with luminous starburst images.

Over 160mm tall, this miniature is based on the all new art for the Sapphire Dragon, released by Wizards of the Coast for the 45th anniversary of Dungeons & Dragons. Completely translucent with gemlike effects on the wings and body, this dragon is a great foe for your next adventure or a beautiful piece for display!

Know what you’re in for

Average rating of 2 out of 5 stars

This is a beautiful miniature but as other reviews have mentioned the wings are made of a hard brittle plastic. The left wing must be slotted into place and has a peg with a space in the middle. This is probably the most likely thing to break, and on my miniature it broke after a few hours of being slotted into place and just sitting on my shelf, causing the wing to not fit.

The rocker of dragons

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This translucent starry blue sapphire dragon is just beautiful. It’s perched on a rock reflecting on how cool he is, or she, or whatever it identifies as. No matter, the point is this dragon can decide to blow your eardrums with its wicked Led Zeppelin scream, I’m hoping everyone knows which song I’m referring to, if it so much thinks of you as a threat while looking good. Not many monsters can take that trophy.

Beautiful and worth the money

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This thing is beautiful in person (it's slightly darker than the image suggests). For anyone looking for dimensions, base is 4", wingspan is about 17.5", snout to tail is about 9.5", and at its highest, it's about 6" tall.

Pretty but fragile

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

While I love the esthetic of the Sapphire Dragon mini, I'm disappointed with the quality. You have to clip in one of the wings yourself, which is fine, but the clip at the base of the wing is both ill fitting and rather fragile. Mine snapped and fell off after simply being gently picking up and examined. Maybe mine was just a poor specimen, but it's rather disheartening to spend decent money on a "premium" figure only to have it break the very next day. I should add that I didn't buy this particular piece from Miniature Market (Though I did pre-order the Adult White Dragon from them and couldn't be happier). My Sapphire Dragon was purchased from my local game store.
