Bully Pulpit Games
Nine Space Games is a collection of freeform games that share a universe and a set of rules. They are designed to be played however you like, and they play fast - each lasts no more than an hour. And they are designed to be fun, packing loads of drama and tough choices into that hour. Whether you play a deeply conflicted intelligent weapon of mass destruction or a space pirate compelled to make poor choices, you will have a busy and exciting sixty minutes.
The games are for fixed numbers of participants (Most are for exactly four, a few are for three, and a few are for 5-6). No GM is needed, although one participant needs to lightly facilitate by organizing play and keeping track of time.
The book also includes a chapter on designing your own games in this format, with a worked example: The Race!
• Gripping, melodramatic scenarios about big feelings and hard choices!
• Ready to scale from tabletop to larp based on your own preference!
• A rich, interconnected world in the background, sometimes with recurring characters!
• Simple rules to support equally simple characters!
• Playable intelligent starships, at least one in each game! Most of them are very sad!
Did we mention that you can play an entire game, complete with blood, betrayal, and heartbreak, in an hour? You can! Nine of them, in fact. That's a lot of hours!
