Explore a Forsaken Bastion of Horrors

Cainhurst Castle has lain abandoned atop is far peak for centuries, shrouded in darkness and bitter, creeping cold. Long ago, the warriors of the Executioners Covenant marched through its halls in a great cleansing of the depraved Vileblood aristocrats. But there are two sides to every story, and the Vilebloods have their own version of those events. There's a mystery lurking in the cold and dark, and choices to be made, for good or ill.

This expansion contains two full Campaigns for players to go through, as well as a side-mission Chapter that can be integrated into any existing Campaign. In this Expansion, discover the imposing, haunted halls of the ancient Cainhurst Castle, where monster roam the dark, dusty hallways.

Another Reason to Keep Hunting

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This is another excellent expansion to the Bloodborne board game that takes you out of the city of Yharnam and into Cainhurst Castle. It includes 5 new enemies, 2 new bosses, a new set of location tiles, and a brand new story campaign to complete. Unlike the game's other campaigns however, this one splits off down the middle once you complete the first chapter. You can either align with the Executioners or the Vilebloods and doing so changes not only the story for the rest of the game, but also the enemies you face, the rewards you can reap, and the boss you must ultimately, assuming you can get that far. Forsaken Castle Cainhurst also includes a bonus chapter that you can insert into any campaign, extending not only the length of any game you play, but also the power you can achieve. It also provides a fun little challenge in and of itself, where you have to complete a hunt mission under a very strict time limit, all the while collecting Blood Dregs that you can exchange for tools and runes you won't be able to find anywhere else. As is usual, the miniatures are nice, detailed, and suitably grotesque, the stories are interesting enough to keep you engaged, and the location tiles depicting the castle interior are pretty and are more colorful than the ones in the other sets (even if the cardboard used for them isn't the best). If there is one quibble to be had, it's that the Cainhurst campaigns only use two enemies rather than three, likely to try and reflect the different faction you're now fighting against, but the selections seem arbitrary. But overall, if you loved Bloodborne: The Board Game, then this will be a fine addition to your collection.

A well designed expansion to a wonderful game

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

Cainhurst, like the video game equivalent, explores one of the most interesting side stories of the Bloodborne lore with new monsters, new bosses, new areas, and a branching campaign. This is a great addition to the core box, and a must-have for anyone who enjoys the board game.

Fun expansion, great minis

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

The Castle Cainhurst expansion is another big box expansion for bloodborne. It won't be a limited print like Forbidden Woods, so if you have the option pick up the other first. The expansion adds 2 bosses, a campaign that splits in to one of 2 endings, and a side chapter that can be added to other campaigns. Plus the martyr logarius mini is one of my favorites in the game.

A must-have expansion for Bloodbourne

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

To be honest I missed the kickstarter. But when i saw what you got with the $100 pledge for Bloodbourne, it was an auto purchase. CMON continues to deliver incredible games at the $100 price point filled with awesome miniatures. But I wasn't sure about getting any of the expansions. But this is a case that when I got the kickstarter base set, I had to have the expansions. Forskaen Cainhurst castle was an add on expansion for Bloodbourne and is well worth the money. Part of the bloodbourne game is about beating certain levels and adventures. This expands the game and gives it more life. Watch a review of the base game to see if you will like this game and if you do, this is a must have expansion.

Prey Slaughtered

Average rating of 5 out of 5 stars

This expansion adds enemies and bosses from the Forsaken Cainhurst Castle area of the video game to the board game. This game is tough but super fun to play. If you like the core game, you can't go wrong with this expansion.

Amazing but weakest of the expansions

Average rating of 4 out of 5 stars

I completed my bloodborne board game with this. Love the expansion, great models, fun boss fights. However its the most linear and unchanging portion of all the expansions. Still fun though!
