Gizmos (2nd Edition)

Fun, lighthearted, and straightforward game. Bit pricey, but good for people of all levels with respect to board games - beginners and experienced players.

My first play of this I was very impressed. It felt very comborific as doing this action triggers this card effect which triggers this card effect, etc. However, on future plays I realized I had basically seen all the game has to offer in my first play, excepting the need to scry the deck for cards when the card offers don't offer things that work well with your combo. Still an enjoyable game especially to pull out with newer gamers and if you're satisfied with playing a game 5-10 times it can be a keeper, but my interest to play has waned enough that I think it'll be a long time before it hits 15+ plays for me.

This is a great lighter and quicker engine builder that several of my family members have gotten into. It quickly became a go to game to play on Tabletop Simulator. I'm very glad to have a physical copy to play as well because the components are just great and fun to play with.

This is a really fun engine-building game. Unlike other engine-building games where you spend a lot of time building an engine but never really get to use it, Gizmos allows you to fire off your engine a few times so you can use chain reactions to acquire cards/points. Once you get familiarized with the iconography, the game plays smoothly and quickly. Not a lot of downtime between turns. Components are OK. Cards are a bit thin and easily bent. The plastic marble base is a nice touch but the paper walls for the marble holder need to be handled with care as they may not long lasting. Overall, highly recommended for a family-weight engine-building game.

Gizmos is a great fun engine builder. You can just have fun picking resources (marbles) and buying Gizmos or you can strategize how to best build your engine to its full potential. Either way I bet you can't just play one game. Slightly addicting. Easy set up and tear down. The resource container is a fun gimmick. Overall I think it's a blast and would recommend it.

This is a fantastic game. It's got great mechanics, and is easy to learn. I highly recommend it to anyone. The only bummer about it is the second edition comes with a plastic dispenser, which the company markets as a bonus, but I found it to be a bummer. The plastic dispenser seems better at first because it will likely last longer. But, it has a design flaw where the marbles get stuck in the shoot, so you have to shake it to make the marbles come out. And, the marbles on the plastic are noisier and a little annoying than when they were in a cardboard dispenser. Overall, I wish I had the first edition. Even so, it's still a great game, and I'd rather have the 2nd edition than no edition at all.

Gizmos is a very fun and easy-to-learn game for the whole family. I enjoy playing it as a lighter game to warm up with on game nights and it's also fun to play with my wife and kiddo. Fun artwork and good components, all around a winner!
