Load! FIRE!
I bought one each of this model and the Arbalester to get some firepower for the ships in my campaign. I still can't decide which is better. On the one hand, I like this model far better off the cuff. It's simple, plain, well painted, and in every way the perfect basic ballista. On the other hand, the Arbalester is two-fifty cheaper, and is a perfectly good model in it's own right. This model looks more mobile, while the Arbalester looks more wall-mounted. The shields on this model look more convincing, but some people may want a giant crossbow without shields. At the end of the day, it's six of one, half dozen of the other, to be honest. My biggest gripe with these models is that, despite their excellent quality of detail, they don't strike me as worth the premium they cost. This model at $10.00 is a bit... extreme. If I buy more, i'll probably pick up the Nolzur's model, which are unpainted, but much more affordable.
