Great having the expansion for the 2nd edition
Expansion is great, but be aware of the change to glossy finish on the board and components (will not perfectly match the earlier prints of the 2E base game).

Easy to teach
I really like this game. There aren't too many rules and so it is easy to pick up on, teach new players, and to play quickly.

Quality
My review is based on the 'components' as playing GWT requires a lot of time, tap on the expansion and that will be another hour. But all components are of superquality. I wish they would fit in the original box. I only recommend you get it if you want GWT to the next level and if you have the time for a more challenging operation. For the price, it makes GWT a little bit heavier (worth it instead of buying GWT Argentina in my opinion. Just expand you don't need GWT Arg).

Awesome expansion.
I’ve played the base game a lot and this expansion makes the train movement a lot more exciting. Love the new cows too.

Let's sell more cattle over them thar hills, partner!
Rails to the North expansion adds an extra layer of decisions and a mountain range background to your simulated 19th century cattle ranching enterprise. I would recommend it to anybody that likes their euro games to be even bigger and more complex than the base game. The extra board is unique among most expansions I have played: it makes the board taller in a portrait orientation. You may have to look at the board sideways in order for the expanded game to fit on your table.
