Simple expansion, with additional content
If you like Champions of Midgard and are wanting more content without complication, this is the perfect expansion. It adds some new dice and new lands to explore, but it keeps the core rules and feel of the game. If you are wanting something a little different with some new mechanics, I highly recommend grabbing the Valhalla expansion instead.

Champions of Midgard is a great game, but my game night would regularly have 5 people. The Dark Mountains expansion was able to take the base game of Champions of Midgard from a 4 player game to a 5 player game without complicating the base game rules. I would recommend this expansion to anyone who enjoys playing Champions of Midgard even if you do not plan to exceed the base game player amount of 4 players.
